The Communications Standard Research Institute was formerly Research Institute of Telecommunications Transmission under the Ministry of Information Industry (MII), which is specially engaged in telecom network technology research.
Since its establishment in 1972, the Institute has provided strong support of technology, policy and regulation for the state telecom authority; engaged in technology research in various communication field and stipulation of state or industry-level telecom network technology system, standard and equipment type approval criteria; responsible for the test and trial operation of network equipment, terminal equipment and new technologies, provided high-level technical and test service as well as consultancy for major telecom operators and equipment providers.
